Being a huge fan of music, I was very excited to get a chance to try out these Plugged headphones.
Plugged is a start up who’s goal is to produce top quality headphones at an affordable price. They believe you should not have to drop $200+ to get a “superior listening experience”.
My first thoughts while unboxing were that the headphones looked very clean in the all black “Phantom” colorway; sleek and stealthy. They come in an alternate “Ghost” colorway as well. The headphones come with a nice carrying case that doubles as a cleaning cloth as well as a good sized cord that plugs into the right ear.
Comfort-wise, they adjust well to fit pretty much any sized head. Leather ear cushions insure a soft and enjoyable wear even after 2 plus hours. As a whole, the headphones are nice and light.
When I started to listen to music in them, the first thing I noticed was “Damn, these are loud.” Often times 1/3 full volume was enough to satisfy my needs. That being said, the sound quality is high at any volume you use these at. There was never a time where I felt like the bass was distorted or overwelming. If I had to pick one word to describe the sound, it would be balanced. Your highs, mids, and lows are always noticably present and never weak. Everything from Bach to Bassnectar was a pleasure to listen to.
For $99.99, Plugged’s Crown Series gives you some serious bang for your buck. Superior sound quality for a price that makes sense.
