Next month we preview the recommendations Eric Koston has had on the SB Dunks, with the Thailand SB Pack. Moving Into Holiday 2010 we will witness the impact Koston had in an upcoming release in the SB Line, the Nike SB Future Primitive / FP. While line sheets have leaked and shown only a glimpse, over the weekend Eric Koston previewed some upcoming products via Twitter, one of them being the Primitive.
While at first looks it appears as another iteration of the Zoom Tre, this Nike SB is the lightest they have made to date. It also incorporates a seamless booty similar to the Nike Rejuvenate, as well refined the rubber for a gripper tread. Made with one piece of material, backed with Polyurethane Film for increased durability. From what we have been told these are not Koston’s “Official” Nike SB, just a sneaker he had a hand in with the production.
The origin of Future Primitive roots back to the second of the Bones Brigade videos with some of the top names in skateboarding (Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, and Nike SB Team Rider Lance Mountain), the Future Primitive video shows how they developed and competed, which fits perfectly with the progressive direction of the SB Line. The Nike SB Future Primitive has the potential on paper to be one of the best skate shoes put out for performance, when they hit the retail shelves later in 2010 ultimately the consumer will decide.
