Organika Skateboards is hyping up the skate scene for Walker Ryan's turning pro video premiere party this Sunday, October 30th at the Mezzanine in San Francisco. Staring on October 21 Organika kicked off a media campaign titled 11-1-11 and if you leave a comment on that page you are automatically entered into the fray to win a release of Walker Ryan's first pro model skate deck. If that link gives you any security certificate issues, the frame from the Facebook page is here and the direct video url is linked below in "Day One":
Day One: Each day from October 21 Organika is putting up new Walker Ryan material and asking fans to spread the word "Share this video! Let people know that 11-1-11 is coming!" We here at stashedboxes.com wish to help promote Walker Ryan's turning pro event…to be an organic and synergistic member of the Organika body. Therefore, we are pleased to pass along as much info we can regarding 11-1-11 by sharing whatever media Organika Skateboards releases each day for the countdown,
Ryan gives dap to some locals and then proceeds to shred down an eleven stair concrete ledge via a nose grind. Next he ollies over a waist high iron bar at a school and then immediately kickflips down a broad five stair. Then he nollie frontside kickflips from a pretty diesel three set to air over a tall metal bar. The overhead video footage in this part of the clip is spectacular. Good stuff. And for the finale he rides the street and launches to a frontside overcrook on a huge white stone ledge and rides away in triumphant glory.
Day Two: The trick that started it all. Walker was just on flow when he met up with the Kayo Photographer and Videographer to shoot this. Truth be told, everyone thought he was claiming a little too hard when he said he was going to nollie flip it. 2 tries in, he was rolling away, and he started rolling right into the Organika Am squad.
Day Three: “Now as a rookie AM on Organika, Walker made the move down to San Diego to finish his education at UCSD. It was here that he began to work on his first major video part, Organika's Concrete Jungle..”
Day Four: Walker continued to put a dent in North County San Diego, effectively clocking more footage on UCSD campus then anyone at any one spot. This switch Ollie, less then a mile from campus was one of the few tricks off campus in his Concrete Jungle part, also featured in The Skateboard Mag.
Day Five: When Concrete Jungle released, Walker established himself as one of the best ams in skateboarding. With a unique view of the spots and tricks to do at them, Walker came away with a nomination as years best video part, an honor rarely put out for an amateur. Where most ams kick their feet up and call it a day, Walker kicked it into high gear…
Transworld Skateboarding is also ramping up for 11-1-11 and "has got a few features with Walker this week. First up, checkout what Walker is skating and why.": Mob Grip Tape, Rough Neck Hardware, Organika Adelmo Jr Believing Deck 8.18" x 32", Spitfire Street Burners, Powell Swiss Bearings, Thunder Trucks – Alerts, Bones Bushings and in action video.
